NICKEL-FREE HARDWARE
The hardware and embellishments on A.S.98 products abide by the restrictions of 1907/2006 REACH, the law that sets regulations for materials that may make direct and prolonged contact with skin.
WATER-BASED GLUE
A.S.98 uses the adhesive ECHO PU 290 FAST to assemble a sole. It is a monocomponent polyurethane glue with a quick, water-based action, which doesn’t require the use of additional polyisocyanate hardeners.
VEGETABLE TANNED LEATHER
All A.S.98 products are uniquely vegetable tanned, using ethical, sustainable, and forest-friendly practices. In the tanning process, we recover water from lime-soaking drums to reuse, notably reducing water consumption. Additionally, pursuant to law UNI EN 16484, all leather carries the title of 100% Made in Italy.
RECYCLED YARN
All yarns used in creating A.S.98 products are made with recycled materials and certified by the Institute for Ethical and Environmental Certification, ICEA.
RECYCLED INSOLES
A majority of the components in A.S.98 insoles come from materials salvaged from foot bed manufacturing, paper supply, and production in other industries, in addition to unbleached cellulose.
